Draig International is the name of the consortium succeeding and continuing the work of Suxe International. Suxe were providing heat and power solutions from 1951 to 2018.
Until the global decline in the use of bituminous fuels in the 1980's, Suxe were providing solid fuel burning technology that burnt all anthracites, coals and lignites, including Petroleum Cokes.
Over the decades since the collapse of the global coal industry, Suxe developed their advanced burning technology to encompass a greater variety of solid fuels, to include; Anthracites Coal, Lignite, Petroleum Coke, all Woody matter as dried Bio-mass or as a pelletised or briquetted bio-fuel. Seasonal crop residues such as bagasse, coconut shells and husks, nut kernels.
All of the designs and IP have been passed on to Draig International. Draig will be developing new power plant technology that will have a delivery capability (order to on-site assembly built to BS-EN 1090 standards) of 18 months, which contrasts with our competition who are normally double the cost and take five to seven years to build and commence operation of a typical power station.
Draig’s advanced combustion technology offers unrivalled consistent combustion efficiencies at up to 98, and unparalleled clean gas emissions. Draig’s technology complies with all gas and particulate emission regulations world-wide.
Draig Energy Centres require a fraction of the space needed for a conventional power station. A great deal of effort is going into developing our Draig Air Turbine Technology. When you use an air turbine a water source is no longer required and it increases operational efficiency enormously
The secret to the Energy Centre design is the modular concept based around the 50MWe power output in a 40 foot export container manufactured to BS-EN 1090 standards in stainless steel for a long trouble-free life. Each container is further protected from high sunshine by a protective canopy and high grade insulation in each wall, to allow a comfortable climate of 10 to 25 degree centigrade to be moderated by a Mitsubishi air conditioner and heater unit. All the essential power station equipment can be mounted upon metal chassis skids on removable wheels and then bolted down for the life of the containerised unit. Each power system component is manufactured and tested to confirm its operational ability and quality of operation. This allows pre-commissioning and certification of each container, where possible the computer test equipment is allowed to interrogate the on-board computer for unusual situations and faults and prove the programming is fit for actual site operation.
New recycled Wood fired Power Station producing 17MWth and 2MWe in Lincoln UK set to be a huge success.

A series of symbiotic businesses placed near the community based power station dramatically improve the overall profitability and shorten the payback period. For example a Fish Farm, Hydroponics agriculture and animal feedlot. The excess water from the bamboo drying plant can be used to open a commercial fish farm and a hydroponics agriculture centre. The nutrient rich water water from the fish farm with the ash residue from burning bamboo mixed with manure from the feedlot will make a very high grade fertiliser. Excess fertiliser can be sold to the local farmers. Hydrated with the nutrient rich fish farm water will supply the hydroponics centre with all it needs, no need to buy expensive fertiliser.
By circulating the Fish farm water to the hydroponics centre the water is cleaned of all the nutrients which are toxic to the fish, but ideal for the plants as nutrients. Clean water is sent back to the fish farm, keeping the fish healty. Waste material from the vegetables when harvested can be fed to the animals in the feedlot. The overall benefits include the sales of electricity, fish, vegetables, excess biofuel and fertiliser. Making the community power station hugely profitable and a provider of many job opportunities and a source meat and vegetables. All of these will massively benefit the local community.
Pyrolysis and gasification – how it works Like incineration, pyrolysis, gasification and plasma technologies are thermal processes that use high temperatures to break down waste. The main difference is that they use less oxygen than traditional mass-burn incineration. However, it still has to meet the mandatory emissions limits. These technologies are sometimes are known as Advanced Thermal Technologies or Alternative Conversion Technologies. They typically rely on carbon-based waste such as paper, petroleum-based wastes like plastics, and organic materials such as food scraps. The waste is broken down to create gas, solid and liquid residues. The gases can then be combusted in a secondary process. The pyrolysis process thermally degrades waste in the absence of air (and oxygen). Gasification is a process in which materials are exposed to some oxygen, but not enough to allow combustion to occur. Temperatures are usually above 750 C. In some systems the pyrolysis phase is followed by a second gasification stage, in order that more of the energy carrying gases are liberated from the waste. The main product of gasification and pyrolysis is syngas, which is composed mainly of carbon monoxide and hydrogen (85 per cent), with smaller quantities of carbon dioxide, nitrogen, methane and various other hydrocarbon gases. Syngas has a calorific value, so it can returned to the Draig burner to be used as a fuel to generate heat for the gasification process or as a basic chemical feedstock in the petrochemical and refining industries. The calorific value of this syngas will depend upon the composition of the input waste to the gasifier.
The feedstock may be in the form of a refuse derived fuel, produced by a Mechanical Biological Treatment plant or an autoclave. Alternatively, the plant may take mixed waste and process it first through some sort of materials recycling facility, to remove some recyclables and materials that have no calorific value (e.g.particulates or grit) The Draig burner sends a clean flame at between approx 750 C and 900 C) into a combustion chamber containing a gasifier unit. The waste fuel is passed through the gasifier, heating the waste in a low-oxygen atmosphere which produces a gas, oils and char (ash). Then the gas is passed through a Scrubber or Sabattier system (Cleaning the gas to remove some of the particulates, hydrocarbons and soluble matter. The scrubbed gas is then collected and may be used in another process or could be fed back into the Draig burner to be combusted with oxygen. The Draig Burner produces a clean flame to heat up the gasifier the excess heat can be used to turn a Siemens gas Turbine to generate electricity and, in some cases, heat through combined heat and power – (CHP).
Draig's unique combustion technology employs very high temperature combustion and complete control of the input oxygen to guarantee almost perfect combustion conditions. 100% perfect combustion requires the excess oxygen to be an close to zero as possible, thereby denying the opportunity for this excess oxygen to combine with Carbon, Nitrogen or Sulphur to create CO CO2, NOX or SO2. High temperature combustion allows Draig to burn this waste derived fuel in pelletised form directly or mixed with a secondary fuel (such as coal). No syngas would be collected using this method
All Draig products will be constructed to the most stringent European standards, Draig completely comply with BS EN 1090 and IS 9002 standards. Delivery of any In the future Draig plant is anticipated to be generally available in under 6 months from order placement.
The most flexible , innovative and inexpensive way to generate electricity Anywhere in the world!!!
Not complying with the Clean Air Regulations
Draig will meet ALL Clean Air standards.
Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants in the world and due to the speed with which bamboo grows and the low production costs. Bamboo can provide the cheapest electricity generated from a fuel source anywhere in the World! This guarantees the maximum profitability for the Power Station.
A Renewable Energy Solution.
Using a gas turbine Draig may not need expensive boilers, high pressure steam lines or expensive steam turbine's. The Draig Energy Centre doesn't need expensive buildings as it can be delivered to site containerised, ready for use. As a result we can be less expesive than the competitors quotes more often than not we are less than our Competitors Quote.
Draig's Energy Centre is very inexpensive to operate compared with a conventional Power Station, as we need very few staff to manage the system. We do not always need to have expensive steam lines and steam boilers to clean and maintain. With the gas turbine option we do not need delicate and expensive steam turbines. As a result we would need very few and mostly unskilled staff to operate the Energy Centre.
The Draig Energy Centre is completely automatic. The dedicated Computer Control system manages everything, so it would need very little management and keeps the day to day running costs to a minimum, thereby maximising the profiability.
Draig's very high temperature combustion process, combined with monitoring the excess oxygen entering the combustion chamber, using AGR and a Sabatier systems will guarantee that there are no nasty gases and absolutely no smoke during normal high temperature operation.
Siemens have developed a gas turbine and Draig are working on developing their own revolutionary gas Turbine technology; With a gas turbine we will not necessarily need any type of boiler to produce dangerous high temperature steam to drive an expensive steam turbine.
Draig International was formed to continue the work of the late Trevor Smith, who passed away on 4th Aug 2018. Trevor Smith was the owner of Suxe International. The team at Draig International had come up with designs and a concept for modern, efficient, clean and portable solid and bio-fuel power-plants. A new team was formed consisting of former design team members from Suxe International, and new designers from the wider business community, and together they formed Draig International, established in October 2018. Draig International has been formed to follow the goals laid out by the former company and the concepts, using new, improved patented designs for a better delivery model for its customers. Draig International aims to put 100% of its profits into: - Securing the security and growth platform of the company and its subsidiaries - The promotion and preservation of all things Engineering - Making the world a better place via support for charities around the world, particularly to help the disadvantaged.
